Margie is a managing director of Purple Insights, the research division of Purple Strategies. She handles all facets of qualitative and quantitative research for Purple’s clients. Previously, she founded and ran Momentum Analysis, a Democratic public opinion research firm in Washington, D.C. Margie’s clients have included the DNC, the DCCC, EMILY’s List, Members of Congress, non-profits and hundreds of campaigns around the country. She is an award-winning pollster, named both a “Mover and Shaker” by Campaigns & Elections magazine, and a “Politico to Watch” by Politico. Her bipartisan work on Walmart moms has defined and described that swing voting bloc, and her bipartisan work for Mayors Against Illegal Guns continues to influence the ongoing public debate.
Margie has appeared on every major national cable news channel, and she or her work has been quoted in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and in outlets around the country. She has blogged regularly for pollster.com, now at The Huffington Post, since 2008. Margie has also written and spoken extensively about women in politics in academic journals, at Harvard’s Institute of Politics, at the Women’s Campaign School at Yale, and before audiences of students, lawmakers, and journalists. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with High Honors, and lives in Washington, D.C.
